Featherbrook - Point Cook

I should have started this Blog earlier but didn't get a chance to do it. I always had this in my mind that I should share the wonderful experience of the construction of our new home but didn't know how or had the time to put all this together. Everyone's building experience is different and I am sure not all the builders & tradies are perfect. I thought to share my view and experience and how we are travelling in our building process. So here I am...

I will be posting pictures and going through each stage of our building process and share my and my family's experience.

We are building in Featherbrook Estate (Release 19)  Point Cook, Victoria.
We paid the deposit for our land in April 2010. We were told that the land will be released in May 2011, and then the exciting wait for land release start. We were not actually sure if we want to build or sell the land.

We were very confused in the beginning between Williams Landing and Point Cook. There were few good reasons for getting in Williams landing, the first and the most important reason was the train station and the second was Westbourne Grammar School. Point Cook always attracted me since we moved from Brisbane, it has the feeling of openness and luxury. It is also well established compare to Williams Landing. so things are visible rather than looking the plan on paper. The final decision was left to me by the family.

I choose Featherbook Estate, the land is on Yellowbox drive, right next to the 23 Hec open space. We are very happy with the land & location so far...though it seem far from the train station and the bus stop but we really like the open space. I am sure Georgie (our 2.5 year old German Shepherd) will enjoy walking/running in the open area.

We started looking at different display houses since we booked our land, even though we were not sure if we wanted to build but looking at the new houses were always an exciting part for me and my wife.....

So the communication to the builders started happening in May 2010...
